COVID-19 RESPONSE
When times are tough, we need steady leadership. It was my honor to serve as Morrisville’s leader and to have represented you during this time.
Our staff continued core operations uninterrupted and rapidly adjusted town operations, recreational programs, and other procedures to keep our residents and businesses safe.
In 2020, I was elected President of the Wake County Mayors Association. I led important conversations and decisions among the mayors of our 12 municipalities about pandemic safety and consistent protocols throughout the county to minimize virus spread. For the first time in years, the mayors chose to re-elect a president for a second term, and I humbly accepted their confidence in my ability to continue to lead the association and coordinate with Wake County leaders.
I collaborated actively with a chair of the Wake County Commissioners to make sure that all of the ordinances and guidelines were aligned. Additionally, at that time I was on the board of directors of the National League of Cities and recieved one of the early COVID-19 briefings at the White House by Vice President Pence, and was able to bring that information back to our region.
