PUBLIC SAFETY

Since serving as vice chair of the Morrisville Public Safety Advisory Committee before being elected to council I have been advocating for fully funding requests from our world class, accredited Police and Fire Rescue Departments. Investments and staff efforts led to the achievement of ISO-1 rating this past year, the highest level awarded for a fire department by Insurance Services Office and benefits both residents and businesses with lower insurance rates.  As our population continues to grow our Police Department is taking steps to meet the challenges our great location presents. Proactively addressing our railroad crossing with improved pavement markings and targeted traffic enforcement efforts along with community policing efforts focused on customer service are just a few of our current efforts. Diversity, equity and inclusion are important values for our community and our public safety departments have an integral role nurturing an atmosphere of trust and accountability in Morrisville. I also strongly supported requests from these department for more staff during the past budget cycle in order to meet the safety needs of our community and I will continue to support such requests in the future: our public safety is of utmost importance to our residents, businesses and visitors.
